01 / THE STORY

EVERY LEGACY
COMES WITH A CHOICE.

After his father walks out, a gifted young basketball player trades his college hoop dreams for the streets.

Growing up in a powerful West Side family, Dizzy Warren has the talent to build a life beyond the neighborhood. But family loyalty, violence and the promise of protection pull him toward a different destiny.

Set in Bakersfield, The Field explores fatherlessness, ambition, sacrifice and the consequences of the world we choose—or believe has chosen us.

04 / THE DIRECTOR'S VISION

A LOVE LETTER
TO BAKERSFIELD.

“The Field is my love letter to Bakersfield, the city I grew up in.”— Keith Fingers Jr., director’s notes in the pitch deck

The director's notes draw on the neighborhoods, churches, basketball courts and people that shaped him. The film explores the presence—or absence—of a father and how that can change a child's life.

05 / VISUAL LANGUAGE

A CITY SEEN
THROUGH MEMORY.

The pitch deck proposes a visual progression: wider, more open frames in Dizzy's childhood; tighter framing and longer lenses as his world grows smaller.
